THAILAND: Pattani Court to hear evidence from military officials and others in custodial death case of Mr. Abduldayib Dolah

On 11 October 2016 from 09.00 -16.00 at the courtroom no. 2, 2nd floor of the Pattani Provincial Court (new court), a hearing in the post mortem inquest will take place in the Black Case no. Cho 6/2559 between the public prosecutor of Pattani, the petitioner and Mr. Abduldayib Dolah, the deceased, and Ms. Kurosmoh Tuwaebusa, wife of the deceased as co-petitioner.

Previously, seven witnesses had given evidence to the Court including the chief officer of the inquiry center at the Ingkhayutthaborihan Military Camp, the chief officer of the security unit, the responsible security officer, a military officer at the inquiry center of the Ingkhayutthaborihan Military Camp, Pattani medical doctor from Nong Chik Hospital, Pattani, who conducted body examination at the crime scene, forensic doctor who conducted an autopsy at the Sri Nagarind Hospital, Hat Yai District, Songkhla, forensic officer from the Office of Forensic Science, the Royal Thai Police, and the inquiry officer at the Nong Chik Police Station, Pattani. Later, the Court also heard the testimony of the witnesses of the co-petitioner including Ms. Kurosmoh Tuwaebusa, wife of the deceased, as the first witness on 29 August 2016.

On 11 October 2016, more witnesses of the co-petitioner, summoned by the Court, shall be giving the evidence including three military officers, i.e., Sgt. Sorasak Sananthung, Smt. Songkhram Nuansri, and Sub.Lt. Theerawat Kaewboon, the officer who had requested to detain Mr. Abduldayib Dolah for an inquiry while he was being held in custody at the inquiry center of the Ingkhayutthaborihan Military Camp, and Mr. Santhan Ratana, a Member of the Inquiry committee to investigate the death in custody of Mr. Abduldayib Dolah per the instruction of the Governor of Pattani.
