[Jointly organized by: Hong Kong Campaign for the Advancement of Human Rights and Peace in the Philippines (HKCAHRPP), Asian Human Rights Commission (AHRC) and BAYAN Hong Kong & Macau]
The two-hour forum will focus on the intensifying human rights violations happening among human rights advocates, environmental advocates and activists as well as in indigenous peoples in the region of Cordillera in the Philippines.
Windel Bolinget, chairperson of the Cordillera Peoples Alliance (CPA), will be the main speaker of the forum. The Cordillera Peoples Alliance (CPA) is an independent federation of progressive peoples’ organisations, most of them grassroots-based organisations among indigenous communities in the Cordillera Region, Philippines. Founded in 1984, the CPA was borne out of a widespread and successful opposition to the World Bank-funded Chico dams project and commercial logging operations.
