We are sharing with you a discussion conducted between Dr. U C P Perera, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Medicine, and Head, Department of Forensic Medicine, University of Ruhuna, Sri Lanka, who has also been involved in the investigations into the Chemmanimass grave, and Mr. Basil Fernando, Director Policy and Programmes, Asian Human Rights Commission, Hong Kong.

Interview inĀ Sinhala

In this interview several issues are discussed in terms of what has happened since the presidential and parliamentary elections of 2015 and in terms of the protection of the liberties of the individual and in terms of improving the much damaged institutions for the administration of justice in Sri Lanka. What happened to the investigations into the mass graves is discussed within the overall framework of a lack of a policy framework to improve the criminal justice system which was negatively impacted particularly by the Ministry of Defence of the former Rajapaksa regime.
